Our Staff

Meghan O’Shaughnessy worked as a veterinary technician on the North Shore for 7 years before joining the staff at Winnetka Animal Hospital. She brings business experience to the practice, having completed her graduate business studies at Keller Graduate School in 2007. Meghan grew up in Glenview and completed her undergraduate degree at Elmhurst College. In her leisure time, Meghan enjoys baking and spending time with friends and family. She resides in Arlington Heights with her cats Spike and Maximus and her dog Una, who comes to work with her everyday.

Prior to joining Winnetka Animal Hospital in February 2010, Francee worked in management at both the Veterinary Specialty Center and Cairo Animal Hospital. She grew up in Deerfield, IL and attended Arizona State University. Francee and her husband currently live in Highland Park with her 2 stepsons and their 2 dogs, Elvis and Presley. In her free-time, she enjoys taking her dogs to the beach and park, working out, reading, traveling, and volunteering. Francee is the Medical In-Take Coordinator with Midwest Lab Rescue.

Rachel Carrington received an Animal Sciences degree from the University of Illinois in 2007. Rachel worked with horses as a veterinary technician and ran the riding program at a summer camp, prior to joining the Winnetka Animal Hospital staff in the winter of 2009. Rachel grew up in Evanston and from 8-10 years old, she lived aboard a sailboat cruising the west coast of North America with her parents and brothers. Rachel still lives in Evanston now with her dog, Jack. She plays underwater hockey and often travels to compete in tournaments, including the 2010 World Championships in Medellin, Colombia. Rachel enjoys spending time with friends, watching movies, reading and cheering on the Blackhawks!

Angela Mirabella recently graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at Fox College and joined the Winnetka staff in the fall of 2010. She has since passed the national board exam to become a certified veterinary technician. Originally from Wisconsin, Angela frequently returns to the Milwaukee area to spend time with her family and friends. In her spare time, Angela enjoys playing with her two Chihuahuas, Lucy and Ethel, and her cat, Bella.

Diane Wang joined Winnetka Animal Hospital with experience as a veterinary assistant. She grew up in Evanston and received her B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University in 1998. She has a whippet mix named Mali, a Rottweiler named Stooge, and 2 cats named Simba and Zeus. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and traveling.
Rachel Oberlander
Rachel Oberlander had experience as a veterinary technician on the North Shore before joining Winnetka Animal Hospital in the fall of 2008. She is currently completing her undergraduate studies at Northeastern Illinois University in physical education and sports and health sciences. Rachel coaches the New Trier Girls’ Ice Hockey and New Trier Girls’ Lacrosse teams and plays on a women’s hockey club team. She lives in Wilmette and enjoys spending time with friends, her family, and her Bedlington Terrier, Toby.

Kimberly Hassen grew up in Northbrook and received her B.A. from Northwestern University in 2007. She went on to earn an M.A. in Animal Studies from the University of Chicago in 2009. She is currently attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Veterinary Medicine. Aside from school, she enjoys training for half-marathons and playing with her two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Nick and Libby. Nick is working hard at agility and Libby is certified as a Canine Good Citizen and as a therapy dog with Therapy Dogs International.

Tory Hooker is currently a veterinary student at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a BS in Animal Science from Cornell University in May 2010. She has worked at Winnetka Animal Hospital in her time off from school since 2008. Tory is active in veterinary research, involving both dog genetics and equine behavior. As a 2006 New Trier graduate, Tory loves returning to the North Shore to learn as much as she can about small animal clinical veterinary medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys running, baking, and training her chocolate labs Isabelle and Dakota.

Hagan Dooley has been working part time at Winnetka Animal Hospital since its opening. Hagan grew up in Winnetka but enjoys traveling around the world. While at New Trier, Hagan was a member of the Sailing Team and Rugby Team. Now a student at the University of Vermont, Hagan plans to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Hagan spends his free time when he is home from school with his Rhodesian Ridgeback, Mante, and his Pug, Koko.
